Advaita-Teachings and perception-based spiritual practice – a selection of articles from the book.

Introduction

This book is about two things: (1) What ‘enlightenment’ and 5 other aspects of spiritual maturity are; (2) How to come to these states or facets for yourself. I have tried to make the reading as light as possible, using anecdotes, allegories and quotations.

Advaita, Teachers, 7 States, DTFE

Overview: The meaning of Advaita; the importance of doing exercises to make your own experiences; the seven spiritual states which I identified on my own path.

DTFE – Do The F***ing Exercises

The exercises I mean are not psychologically oriented exercises like affirmations (e.g. repeating “I love myself”), but exercises where you experience dimensions of perception beyond the accepted norm; and (very important) if possible corroborate any information thus gained.

The experiences and insights depicted in the following articles describe individual aspects of spiritual growth. The seven states, or facets, which are to be dis-covered, form the basis of my seminars: DTFE and get Enlightened.

In a world of limited resources, this striving, in […]

Polarities (I love myself)

Value judgement relaxes into preferences, rather than things which we insist on to be happy and satisfied. So we can see things, and accept them, as they are. The relaxation of the judgemental attitude has a very welcome side-effect: Not judging oneself.

Life is holistic – Many and One

Your body consists of tens of trillions of cells, which almost all die within days to months. Although you are a conglomerate you experience continuity, you have your own personal life and awareness. So do other levels of conglomeration also have an ‘individual’ life and awareness of some sort?

The River

Like a river, all manifestation flows from the source, which is the Divine. And the ‘water’ or flow of Beingness connects us with the source – however long the river may be, the water is a continuous medium. Personal experiments and experiences with Non-local Perception show that this connectedness right back to the source can be directly experienced.
